This Day - 11/4/2022

Awakened to a strange dream I do not remember.  Showered, washed my hair, dressed while Diamond resigned herself to waiting for me to get my shoes on.  Grey morning.  Took D out for a walk, fed her and the kitties. Made the coffee, ate the yogurt, read the news on the IPad.  Then upstairs to brush teeth. Finally to go to the meditation room/guest room.  My refuge.  Nicoll talked about Inner Accounts and how we feel others owe us, when we in fact are the owers for being asleep.  Beryl talked about Will in a way I had not thought - being patient and waiting for a solution.  To quote: "Impatience belongs to self will and patience belongs to the new Will."

Made bed, swept floor, tidied the kitchen.  Loaded the kitchen trash bag filled with yesterday's refrigerator clean out into the car.  And the bath mats I had washed and replaced with new Memory Foam ones.  I dropped those items at the appropriate places and went to the car wash.  The line was long.  I sat in a funky white plastic chair next to a beautiful older woman with braids and an adorable dog named Sadie.  Friendly soul, very talkative.  After a bit, she said she had been with Chatham Animal Rescue for 20 years.  I asked her name - Dorasue - I reintroduced myself and we both had a laugh at how much we had both changed in the years since we had seen each other.  Her car was finished and I started reading Lucy by the Sea by Elizabeth Strout.

Around 11:30, my car was not even close to being washed so I gathered my stuff and walked up to Virlie's grill.  Delighted by the walk, especially the old house on the corner with beautiful colorful morning glories blooming as well as a clump of fall-blooming crocus.  Very cheeful.  Virlie's was filling up quickly but I got my favorite high table that looked out over the street.  I enjoyed watching people walk by.  Women with their knock knees and men with their bow-legs, taking note of their gaits.  I recognize those gimpy knees and hips.

After lunch I went to the Studio looking for a teal bowl for Jill, Crissy's landlady who is allowing us to stay at her house while Diane and I are in Arizona. No teal bowls there. I stopped in at New Horizon's and bought Chapel Hill toffee for Crissy and Jill and walked back to the car wash.  My heart felt so open by the beauty of the day with  fall in full swing, mild temperature and sun shining.

Drove home in my clean car and then blew leaves off the driveway, garden paths, and back deck.  So beautiful out. Came in and started reading and then went on the porch to read Lucy some more.  The kitties came out and joined me.  Sabrina for a lap sit a couple times.  Diamond investigated and got bored and went back in.

Today would be Robert's 77th birthday.  I can still see his beauty.  He died in 1986, if I am not mistaken.  I have always believed we are strongly related spiritually.
